Adult Education & Night School Students needing additional credits to be able to graduate with their class may enroll in night school. Guidance counselors assist in selecting courses and completing the authorization form.
Attending Summer School gives you the opportunity to make-up credits and to take certain courses for the first time. Students may register in May and June; classes begin in late June. Summer school consists of 2 three week terms. Students attend classes for four hours per day. See your counselor for further information.
Juniors and seniors who meet eligibility requirements may be concurrently enrolled in high school and college courses at B.C.C. or F.A.U. See your counselor for more information.
At the completion of the junior year in high school a student may apply and be admitted to certain colleges which offer early admission. The student forgoes spending the senior year in high school and, upon meeting specific conditions, is awarded a high school diploma after a year in college. See your counselor for more information.
Advanced Placement courses are taught in several academic areas and are considered to be at a college level. Successful completion of the course and receipt of a qualifying score on the national AP exam may result in college credit at a large number of colleges and universities. Students registered for AP courses must take the AP exam given in May. See your counselor for more information.
Tech Prep prepares students for a world of high demand, high tech career possibilities. Tech-Prep programs lead to success by blending rigorous academic courses with technological training in a variety of vocational choices. Please see your guidance counselor for further information.
Improving a Previous Low Grade Students who wish to improve a previously earned low grade (below a "C") in any course may repeat the same course during the regular school year and receive a new grade and credit. This policy gives you opportunity to repeat a course previously passed in order to receive a higher grade and to improve your school record. You should see your counselor to be approved.

Weigh your choices carefully as you are committing to the courses that you choose. Teachers are hired and the master schedule is developed based on the course requests which you make. Once this has been done, changes due to "whim" will not be accepted. Changes necessary because of academic misplacement will be considered but all changes will be made only after due consideration and on a space available basis. Before the spring term ends you will be given a pink slip which will list your courses choices for the coming school year. If there are any errors or corrections to be made - these need to be taken care of prior to dismissal of classes in June.
Students may make an appointment request to see their counselor by filling out an appointment request form at the Colt Career Corner. The Colt Career Corner is located adjacent to the cafeteria and is open during Colt Break and during all lunch periods. These requests should be filled out and dropped off at the Colt Corner after which they will be distributed to the counselors. The counselor will then send for the student.
Colt Career Corner is located adjacent to the high school cafeteria. This "Corner" houses a great deal of vocational and college information. Students are able to visit the Colt Corner during Colt Break and at lunch periods to pick up information regarding: SAT Test dates/application packages; ACT Test dates/application packages; scholarship applications and scholarship bulletins; college catalogs; and various other career/education information. There are three computers in the Colt Corner with a variety or programs on them specifically designed to help students obtain information on post-secondary educational opportunities, scholarship options, and career descriptions. Students may also sign up for a variety of activities sponsored by the Guidance Office at the Colt Corner. The BRACE advisor and a guidance counselor are available to answer student questions.

Coral Springs High School will be offering a two-hour information/hands on session for the new SAT. Sessions will be held from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM on select Saturdays. The time will be divided among math preparation and English/Reading Skills. Our goal is to raise the comfort level of students taking the SAT in order to enhance test results
