The HOSA students have had an active school year thus far. In October, they had the opportunity to participate in the Fall Leadership Conference. This provided an occasion to meet and work with the other HOSA students from Broward County. The students spent several days at Coral Springs Medical Center shadowing employees from various departments. This allowed them insight into the roles of various health care professionals. During the month of February students participated in Regional Competition. Our Raquel Francis placed third in the Physical Therapy category. We are very proud of her. Currently, the students are involved in an off-campus learning experience. Sites are chosen based on their field of interest. The HOSA students are also in the process of raining funds for such events such as Relay for Life, the 2008 Autism Speaks Walk Now For Autism and the March of Dimes Organization.
We are always looking for new
clinical sites and mentors for our students.
