Mrs. Mary Catherine Salo, is a dual-degree graduate from the New England Conservatory of Music and is the current director of vocal music at Coral Springs High School, Coral Springs, Florida.

She made her choral debut at Carnegie Hall at the age of 14 and has performed under Lorna Cooke DeVaron, Seiji Ozawa, Colin Davis and Micheal Tilson Thomas.

Before her teaching career began, she performed in numerous production contract shows such as Pirates of Penzance, Showboat, and Camelot.

She was also a memeber of the national touring company for Fiddler on The Roof. Mrs.Salo worked as a performer for the Cunard Line aboard the M.S.Sagafjord on its world cruises, and currently keeps her performance skills in shape as a weekly soloist at St. Paul's Church in Delray, Florida and as a singer with the George Zann Jazz Combo.

Under her direction the Coral Springs choirs have recieved superior ratings at both the district and state level and were part of the 2001 Carnegie Hall Invitational Florida Honor Choir. A member of the American Choral Directors Association, Mrs.Salo has just successfully completed her portfolio and exams as a candidate for national certification.
