Mrs. Mary Catherine Salo
  • Mrs. Mary Catherine Salo, is a dual-degree graduate from the New England Conservatory of Music and is the current director of vocal music at Coral Springs High School, Coral Springs, Florida.
  • She made her choral debut at Carnegie Hall at the age of 14 and has performed under Lorna Cooke DeVaron, Seiji Ozawa, Colin Davis and Micheal Tilson Thomas.
  • Before her teaching career began, she performed in numerous production contract shows such as Pirates of Penzance, Showboat, and Camelot.
  • She was also a memeber of the national touring company for Fiddler on The Roof. Mrs.Salo worked as a performer for the Cunard Line aboard the M.S.Sagafjord on its world cruises, and currently keeps her performance skills in shape as a weekly soloist at St. Paul's Church in Delray, Florida and as a singer with the George Zann Jazz Combo.
  • Under her direction the Coral Springs choirs have recieved superior ratings at both the district and state level and were part of the 2001 Carnegie Hall Invitational Florida Honor Choir. A member of the American Choral Directors Association, Mrs.Salo has just successfully completed her portfolio and exams as a candidate for national certification.
