Mission (The Why):
The goal of Colts Basketball Academic Assistance center is to direct shared-learning and growth opportunities for student-athlete and family, school staff, and school community. Colts Basketball strives to be apart of the whole learning experience including academic success, physical and mental preparation for life,a nd local school pridet hroughout volunteer activities and community outreach.

Vision (The What):
The Academic Assistance Center is focused on facilitating important Academic News to our Student-Athletes within Colts Basketball Program and beyond the school community. Self-discipline in academics and physical preparation lead to well-rounded and intense competitors.

  1. Colt Basketball Academic Monitoring System:
    * Players with ALL proper Physical and PAPERWORK will be required to:
    1. Print and turn in "Pinnacle grades" every THURSDAY for Colts Basketball to review and record.
    2. Players in 9th and 10th grade will be required to attend MANDATORY S.C.O.R.E. tutoring on PRACTICE and CONDITIONING days. The sessions will be held in Room 1004, from 2:50pm-3:20pm. National Honor Society members are available to assist players.
    3. All players associated with Colts Basketball will adhere to all rules, codes of conduct, and regulations of Coral Springs High School. Those who fail to act accordingly will be cosnidered not following our team's objectives

    2. Credit Recovery Program, Exclusively at Coral Springs High:
      APEX program is a pilot online system which is recently implemented in Coral Springs High School. Registered students can self-complete specific courses for credit recovery of previous course grades to attain graduation.

        Any and all student-athletes whose goal is to compete at the collegiate level must register through the NCAA Clearing House.

      IMPORTANT FACTS!!
      • Fall 2008 enrollees need to request final amateur certification by signing the 10.1 statement at this time.
      • Official test scores must be sent through the testing agency using code 9999. Test scores that appear on a high school transcript will not be accepted. Those graduating in 2008 who plan to attend an NCAA Division I Institution must have 16 core courses.

    4. Comment on Great Schools as pretaining to Research:

      Great schools "row as one"' they are quite clearly in the same boat, pulling in the same direction in unison. The best schools we visited were tightly aligned communities marked by a palpable sense of "we". By contrast, struggling schools feel fractured; there is a sense that people work in the same school but not toward the same goals.
